1)Start with a base of your choice. Make sure that it is of good quality to begin with. I pulled this base from Getty Images

Photobucket

2)Go into Channel Mixer and input these settings

Red: 130,-34,36
Green: -12,51,100
Blue: -58,110,53

3)Go into Color Balance and input these settings

Midtones: 0,0,21
Shadows: 0,0,20
Highlights: 0,0,30

Photobucket

4)Paste this texture on by [Bad username: azuremonkey_itchy] on soft light at 36%

5) Paste this texture on by innocent_lexys on screen at 100%

6)Create a new raster layer and fill with black set on soft light at 36%

7)Paste on this texture (by unknown) and set to Dodge at 100%

8)Paste on this texture by euphoric_acid on Multiply at 66%

9) For tiny text I like to create it on a seperate pallete. I opened a small white pallete and with Ariel on sz. 3 I type random words. Hit your space bar several times inbetween each 'word' so the space is visable. Added the semicolon in a different font that I have forgotten (sorry!) scroll and find one that you think fits your icon :)

Photobucket

10)After it has been created I flatten the tiny text brush and paste it onto my icon, set on multiply at 100%

Photobucket

And you are done!! Just flatten your image and save!
