quick question

Hey all! I've been making icons for years, but I finally just got Photoshop. Yay! I'm having fun playing around with it, but there's one thing I can't seem to figure out that I know people can do. How do you remove the network logo from a screencap of a tv show? I hate those little buggers, and all these years I've just been cropping around them, but I've seen people remove them before. So can someone please share their knowledge with me? Thanks a bunch in advance! :)

Also, I have no idea what tag would go with this.

Use the clone stamp tool
Use the paintbrush to go over it with a nearby color so it blends into the foreground/background

What did you use before photoshop?

A program called Paint.Net. It's a free editing program, and can make some pretty spiffy things if you know how to use it. All my icons prior to the ones I'm making now have been with that program. :) But it lacks some of the awesome stuff that photoshop has, and I want to take some graphic art classes so I wanted a step up in my program. :) So far Photoshop is a lot of fun. But, ironically, there are some things I like better about Paint.Net. :P I think I'll be using a mix of them both from now on.

If it's an area with a more or less solid colour, then use the clone stamp tool to cover up the logo, and use the smudge tool to make it blend in with the rest.

If it's not a solid area, then it just takes finer effort and zooming in.
