I found this on the Adobe forums... http://forums.adobe.com/message/2995325 ...scroll down to almost the bottom of the page, the answer is the 4th post from the bottom.

Let me take some screen shots that will help with the instructions. I use CS3 but the files for CS5 should be in the same location.

This is the best I could do.

Follow the steps here first...

Once you do the above steps, open CS5 and then follow the steps here...

I hope this fixes your problem. If not your best bet would be to go to the Adobe forums and ask the question.

ok i did find it in the end and did what you told me to do, what i don't understand is on step 2 you say delete it, then you say right click on it. it didn't work anyway

Once you delete the file, open CS5 and then go back to where that file was. It should be there again and that's when you click on Properties to select Read-only.

i did that and its still saying the same error.

Have you removed and then reinstalled the software? That's the last thing I can think of to do. If that doesn't work, I'd go to Adobe forums and see if anyone there has a fix.

i removed photoshop cs5 from my computer and tried downloading it from differnt websites and the link i had before, then when i get it and click on photoshop cs5 - i get this

Open Windows Explorer and go to C:\Documents and Settings\"Your Username"\Application\Adobe. Right click on Adobe Photoshop CS3, the properties box pops up, uncheck the Read-only box and select Apply. See if that works.

It might not work since you're not getting your software from Adobe.

I can't right click on it because it won't even let me install it, the thing is i had it before and now its saying what i told you.

How did you remove CS5?

That's good to hear. Your best bet is to go to the Adobe forums and ask the question.

i did that, this is what they said, i don't understand a word;

Sounds like something's corrupted in your particular installation or system. I just tried it (Windows 7 x64 and Photoshop CS5 12.0.4) and saw the proper dialog, so it's not a problem with Photoshop per se.

Do you have any 3rd party plug-ins? If so, try temporarily removing them.

Have you installed anything special that seems like it would affect Javascript scripting?

If all else fails - more or less standard advice:

Ensure you have the latest Photoshop update (12.0.4 for CS5, 12.1 for CS5.1).

Ensure your drivers (e.g., display driver, tablet driver, etc.) are up to date.

If the problem persists, you may want to consider uninstalling and reinstalling Photoshop and its updates.

I'm having a problem with this too. I don't know if this belongs here or not but every time I try to load to stack it doesn't do anything. I didn't have this problem before. I was wondering if file format (ie. .bmp) has anything to do it. Can anyone help me on this?
