So I've been trying to figure this out for over an hour and I feel like it's something so simple that I'm missing but cannot get it right on how to get this blur/soft edges effect

I've tried feathering and the blur tool but nothing I do seems to quite work. I know it's just something I'm not thinking of and would love any tips!

If you click on the background with the magic wand tool (assuming you have the pictures in the middle in a layer of it's own), and the go to Select>>Inverse, and then to Select>>Refine edge and change the opacity of the Feather and Contrast, I think it would work. :)

Oh and, I think you have to check the "Decontaminate Colors" thing.

Really? I just take the blur tool, set it to 60% and about 8px width depending on the image, hold down shift and drag it across the edge. *shrugs*

you need to fix your cut...the image code needs to be before the closing lj-cut tag, not after it. ;)
