ruby lips

(no subject)

Ok, I just downloaded PSP8. I'm trying to make a background, with a bunch of different pictures. I want to merge them I guess is the word, so they don't have the harsh edges. I learned how to colorize so it's the same, but I don't want them to look like different pictures, I want it to look like one image. Does anyone have an idea what I'm talking about? And how to fix it? I'll try to post a picture if you don't understand...thanks!

Blending

Hey everyone :) I just joined this community and this is probably the wrong place to ask, but I'm desperate and I know people use Photoshop here, so I thought I'd try asking.

When I've been doing blends lately, when I paste a new layer onto the plain background the image goes greyscale. When I try changing it back to RPG colour it doesn't work :/ I really don't know what's going on, so if anyone could help me I'd appreciate it sooo much! I'm sorry, I know this isn't exactly the place to ask :/

simple question.

This may be a real stupid icon question but how do you make an icon where the text is not on the picture or beneath it but the backround appears invisible, or part of the picture is cut off...hard to explain, for ex. like this type of thing:

greetings and a quick question[i think]

Hey everybody!

I just joined the other day, I've been mostly lurking and posting some *hopefully* helpful comments. I've been wondering for a while how to do an effect like the following icon... If any one knows, can they please comment with a tutorial or something? Thanks in advance!

Here's the icon with the effect I'm looking for... the one that layers the base image:

Oh yeah, I use Photoshop 7.
