hey, i'm new *waves*

I have a question: I just got done making my first animated icon and it took forever, but its way too big (264 KB). is there anyway to make it work (i dunno, like make the file size smaller by fixing it somehow)? or is it hopeless, lol. thanx in advance for your help *crosses fingers*

Blurry fonts

I have a question about something that's been really annoying me lately. How does one make their fonts less blurry? I've been using the 04 fonts, and every time my icon is completed, the words look fuzzy. *points to icon for this post*

I'm completely at a loss as to what I'm doing wrong. If somebody could help me, that would be great.

ETA: Thanks to enigel and crumblingwalls, I have figured out what I'm doing wrong. Now, my next question is, how does one turn off (and on) anti-aliasing in PS7?

I'm wondering something here. I know how to make mini-movie icons using Animation Shop and PS7. I can do it, I have done it and they come out like this. I know it's not great, but I was only throwing something together to ask my question.. Which brings me to the question.

I see other icons out there such as this one made by blueshades82

Hers has a much more fluid motion than almost any other mini-movie icon I've seen. And if you want to see other icons with the same fluid motion just check out sirenicons. No matter what I do, I can get it to flow like that.

I know siren uses ImageReady to make her mini-movie icons, could that be why they flow better? And if so, how would you go about making a mini-movie icon in ImageReady. I've read all the tutorials and they don't say anything about making a mini-movie icon in IR. I don't even know how to use IR. Anyway, I was just wondering.. Thanks in advance for your help everyone.

OK sorry to be a pain but this is realy pissing me off and Ive been trying to get it.
Ive been trying to do the template stuff and I looked at the tutorial and everything worked except this part:

"Step 5. However, if your template wasn't transparent... Then you'll be done, and can save it as-is, or go ahead and add your transparency."

I just have a simple quesiton: HOw do I add transparency when its all done, when I save it, in photoshop???????

I was looking for a free tryout version for ImageReady from the Adobe web site. They seem to have combined Imageready and Photoshop into the one program -Adobe Photoshop CS for which there does not appear to be a free tryout yet. Can someone tell me if Imageready is in PS7 or PS elements, as there are free tryouts for these programs?

Can someone please give me pointers on the best way to use this template:

I can't seem to get it to come out properly, no matter what I do. I'm trying to get parts of my image in the little hearts and the rest to be transparent. Is that even possible with this template? And yes, I've read the tuts. Thanks a bunch. :)
