Helping icon makers one tutorial at a time.

I've been looking through the memories all week (and have found plenty of great things, thank you), but one thing that's been bugging me is that I can't seem to be able to turn my animated icon (or any movie) black and white.

I use PSP7. I have found ways to alter the colours (including turning them black and white), and add 'Filter' effects to the frames, but I can only do this one frame at a time. Is there a way I could apply an effect, like turning an animation black and white on the ENTIRE animation?

I'm not sure if this is going to be accepted or not, but I have a few concerns and questions and this is the only place I can think to address them since this is where most of the tutorials are posted ...

I'm thinking the first a noise layered on but I might be wrong. Tried gradients & layering on the second but nothing so far. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

For a really REALLY long time i have been asking people what program do you use to create stills of videos to make animated avatars. And no one ever helps me or gives me a hint. It's like some big secret or something. So i am here. SOMEONE please! I've looked in the memories for a while. I haven't come across anything that says how to change the color of a brush. Usually I download brushes that are black. Like border brushes. Sometimes I want to change the brush color but I cant seem to figure out how! :/ I use PSP7 and was wondering if you can even change the color of a brush or not! I'm confused.

And other brushes too like decorative brushes. I've seen people use brushes in differnt colors and I dont know if they downloaded them that color or they made their own. I've tried like I said but I cant seem to figure it out.
