I was wondering if there is a way to "tile" in PSP7? For example, I have a 300x300 image that I'd like to add a background to but the background is only 16x16. Instead of copying and pasting the background 345346 times and matching it up to fill the 300x300 image, I was wondering if theres a way to tile it? Any help is appreciated. Thanks much!

It's my first tutorial so don't be too harsh!
It's for PSP9 but i'm sure it can be translated
We're going to be making this icon:

It's not the greatest icon but it uses some techniques that I haven't ever seen in other tutorials.

Mod Post: Memories maintenance!

Hi gang!

I'm going to be redoing the entire memories archive, to make it more organized and more easily searchable. This will be worth it in the end. However, for the next 24 to 48 hours, things may be in weird places, or not there, or not make any sense, or be split up into two categories, or there when you look and then gone a half-hour later. Sorry for any chaos I cause but we'll all like it better when I'm through.

Also, over the next few days you may see some posts by me that seem instructional, or irrelevant, or out-of-place. IF you do, it's because I'm creating a reference post for the memories archive specifically. Examples will probably include a "how to post" post, a new FAQ, and a new "how to use the memories" post, just for starters.

I'll make another post to let you know when it's all set, probably very late tonight or sometime early tomorrow. :)

I don't think this is in the memories. I'm using Photoshop CS and whenever I open a new document to paste things into all I get is greyscale. Even my brushes are grey!!!

If anyone can think / knows of a way to fix this it would be much appreciated.

Ok i'm having a problem. I just went through a tutorial and everything went fine. Until i tried to add text. I add the text and go to move it over [u know with the move tool] and it switches down to either a layer below it or the background layer itself. I just tried it again and it moved like normal then did the weird switching thing again. What could be causing this? Did i hit a wrong button or something? Thanks for any help. [My program is Photoshop 7]

Hi, I'm new. And confused.

Okay, I know this has been asked before, but I've been searching the memories for about an hour and, quite frankly, it's driving me insane. I use Photoshop 7, and whenever I open an image there's a little "01" in the upper left corner. I know it has something to do with the Slice tool, I just can't figure out how to make it go away. If anyone can help me with this, I'll give you beer and cookies. Or porn and chocolate, whichever you prefer. Thanks.

I bought an eMac today, im planning on buying the adobe creative suite in february or march, but until then I need a image editing program, preferably a free one just to do until i get photoshop again (i have the PC version). Can anyone suggest anything? I've noticed there are tutorials for GIMP, anyone use it? Is it worth the effort in 'putting together'?

Screencaping- More of it :P

Sorry to be uber!annoying and be the trillionth person to ask about screencapping, but when I use Winamp (or PowerDVD for that matter) to screencap, my image is either just a black square, or it'll be sort of out of wack ie where one person's head was, it shows their shoulders?

Can someone tell me how to fix this?

If you want to just post a link to another post, I'll be just as happy :)

Help with an icon in progress

Help please! I've been fiddling with this base I made for a while now, but am not having much luck. The lighting in the cap is really difficult to work with (no fault of the capper, it's just the scene), and I'm looking for some suggestions or help to make it look a little nicer.

Here's the plain base:

And here's all I've been able to do with it, not terrible, but not particularly good. I can't seem to do anything about the lighting on Boba's helmet on the right side there.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated! I'd just like to make it look overall better. I know that's vague.....
