Super clear

I'm having trouble achieving a certain icon effect. "Tons" would be an understatement for the amount of tutorials I have gone through to find this, and I haven't found what I'm looking for. I'm trying to get this super clear and crisp (but still colourful) effect as seen in the two icons below.

Pattern Tutorial!

Hello! This is my first tutorial, so I hope it makes sense!

Today, we're going to learn how to make patterns that you can use on your icons, headers etc. This is for PSP7, but I'm sure it'll translate fairly easily to other programs too. It's also written to be very beginner friendly, but if you have any issues leave a comment and I'll do my best to answer them =)

This is what our finished product will look like:

Photoshop 7 problem

Hello, I"m in need of a little advice, please. I did check memories, but did not see my problem there.

For some reason, when I try to use the File browser, Photoshop just shuts down on me. It didn't start suddenly. It began quite some time ago, and with just one particular folder. I figured that folder had too many images in it, so I split it up and it worked fine. But now, slowly over time, it will shut down any time I try to open any folder with file browser, it makes no difference if ther is 1 or 100 images in the folder.

I've been using Photoshop for about 9 years, and have learned a few work-arounds.

I am not low on ram, or hardrive space.

I defrag weekly. I check for spyware daily, and I run virus check weekly, sometimes more often. I have reset my preferences.

I am stumped. Actually, it would be OK if I could just retrain myself to NOT use the file browser, but inevitably, I forget, then crash, and loose my work since the last save. (Fortunately, I save often and more often, but it is still annoying.)

Any advice would be delightful, thanks in advance.

Animated Icon Help....

Okay, I finished making this animated icon (loosely based on a tut I found here) that's about 33 frames long and I go to uplaod it but LJ says its too big... Its 89kb and the limit is 40kb. Is there anyway to compress this so that the animation remains in tact? You know, like winzip does sorta. If there is no way, how do I get down to 40kb without cutting out half of the animation? I swear I've seen some long animated icons before....

Thanks so much ;)

+ Using Photoshop 7.0 +

My first tutorial, so I hope it's understandable; I tried to keep it pretty organized.

:: I M P O R T A N T ::

Before proceeding, please download the awesome Sunset gradient set made by __kali__ found here and upload them to your gradients folder. Not only are they a beautiful set, but it's important for you to be able to access these gradients for the purpose of this tutorial. If you had Photoshop open when you saved the gradient file to your presets, make sure to close PS and reopen it so that you can access the gradients.

That being said, mush on! ♥ *cracks whip*

broken

(no subject)

Hey all.
I was just curious as to why my font on psp is suddenly hollow?
I mean, if I have two colours on my pallette, one colour will be the inside & the other will be the outside of the font.
Anyone know why?
