I checked the memories, but couldn't find anything
relating to this, unless I overlooked it...

I'm trying to figure out how to add a camera flash
to an icon. I have a pic with a girl holding a
cam & I want it to appear she's actually taking
a picture.

Any help would be appreciated :)

Photoshop CS2 help...

Hey everyone, I'm hoping you guys can help or at least tell me what's going on because I've googled, looked on adobe's site, & looked through memories and found nothing. :( I've had Photoshop CS2 installed since June, 2005 and it's worked perfectly until now (well, it hasn't worked for about 12 hours now). I'm getting this error when I open it: "You are not allowed to continue because your account does not have the proper privileges. Please log in using an account with administrator privileges and try again." Here the thing windows user account is an administrator account. I even tried logging out of this and I relogged on under the Administrator account in safe mode and I get the same message. I've repaired it through the installer & I uninstalled and reinstalled and I'm still getting the same message. Any help...or am I just screwed? I will be immensely grateful for any help, directions to anywhere else I can ask & can get help from, or suggestions as to how to fix this. Thanks in advance. :)

Hullo, all. I'm a long-time lurker that's popping up with a question. I use PS7/ImageReady, and I was curious about making mini-movies. I've looked in the memories (which are awesome, by the way), but I only found animation for other programs, like PSP. So: Do any of you lovely lot know of a good IR mini-movie tutorial? Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thank you muchly!

Okay, I've been through the archives of this comm on different occasions and don't remember seeing anything about this, and, unfortunately, I don't even have an example to show you because I wouldn't know where to look, but how, on an icon, do you make text shimmer?

Like, a vertical shimmer that scrolls across the text?

I'm using PS7 and Image Ready...

One more, how do you make a colored box fade? Like the box in the icon I'm using, if I wanted the pink box to fade (to clear) towards the right...? I made the icon and tried to get the box to fade by using the dodge tool but all that did was make the pink fade to white.

Thanks in advance!

Does anyone have a really great place for light textures that are kind of like this?

Kinda a fast-moving exellent side-light image?
I need a ton of them, and all I have is this one and I have NO IDEA where to find these.
Please help.

Simple FF icon tutorial. (PSP &c.)

Go from to in 6 simple steps! I use PSP X, but use pretty basic tools (and an easy to emulate one that might be PSP specific), and am fairly certain that anyone'll be able to use this.

I certainly hope this is useful... ^__^ If you do use it, please try and be at least a bit original... make changes here or there, &c. I'd rather not see the exact same thing all over the place -- be creative!

This may be a silly question, but I can't figure out how to (when making a blend header) to get pictures on the palette any place you'd like them to be.
I've tried cut and paste but nothing seems to work...?

Problem with ImageReady

I am currently making animated icons, but I have a problem with one:

I made a psd.file, saved it and then opened it in ImageReady to make the animation. Worked well so far, but whenever I try to save it optimized for web ImageReady wants to save it as a .jpg and not a gif. I don't even have an option to choose, and that's the only .psd that this is happening with. Even if I manually type in the ending "gif" the icon is saved as .jpg and ImageReady tells me that .jpg files cannot have animated frames. (No reaaaallly???)

Anyone has an idea what I am doing wrong?

Smooth border for text,

Hey guys.

This question is in regards to Photoshop CS. I'm trying to get an outline for some text I have on a picture I'm working on. But it seems whenever I try it I try and do it with selecting the text, putting a border around the text and trying to colour it in but it doesn't come up solid. It comes up looking like the ends have been shocked with static electricity. I'm looking for a good, direct clean outline that kind of hugs the text, such as in this picture here:

Demon Girl

Unforunately this is the best I could find, I couldn't find anything with text as an example, but I hope you know what I mean. The white outline in the picture is clean and smooth. But that picture was also done in Illustrator, and I don't have Illustrator. I'm hoping this is also able to be done in photoshop. Can anyone help me, or lead me to a tutorial or something? I'd really appreciate it!

*Edit: With the comments left I have the answer. Thanks so much guys!

Okay, so I made two video icons. And I need some help. They're 700kb's each, so they're really large. How can I make the file size smaller?

Simple Plan - Crazy icon.

Box Car Racer - There Is icon.

Thanks for the help. By the way, I made them both in Adobe ImageReady.
