screen shots.

OK, so I am trying to get screen shots of A Cinderella Story. I am using InterActual Player and PSP9. Whenever I pressn the prt-scrl and paste it into PSP, the actual movie plays. All I want is the picture, not the whole movie. Any help would be great.

Thankss

Light effects;

Apologies if something like this has been posted before!! If so, please tell me, and I'll take my post down :) xx

For ages, I couldn't work out how people got special pretty fluorescent Christmas light things on their icons. I looked EVERYWHERE. Anyway, I was messing about with brushes on PSP and setting them to light layer opacity settings (Lighten, Screen, Overlay & Soft Light)** and realised that if I made circle brushes, I'd get the effects I wanted. To show what I'm talking about, I've made some examples via PSP7 (I think I'm the only person in the WORLD who bought a copy! Nobody makes brushes or gradients for it!!) and am posting them here :)

Animation question

I want to make an animated icon from a scene in a video clip. The clip is downloaded to my computer but I don't know how to take a few scenes from the clip.

How do you extract scenes and/or frames from a video clip?

Here's a list of programs I use:
Paint Shop Pro 9
Animation Shop 3
RealPlayer
Windows Media Player

I've asked the icon maker (beaute__exquise) how she got this effect, but I got no reply.
How did she get this light, soft effect on her icons that's so basic?
Here are some examples, but I like the Sarah Michelle, and first the two rows of Scarlett colouring the best.

Black & White: Color Icons

I know that this question has been asked like a million times all ready. I have looked at a lot of the memories. However, I am still really stuck on this. I want to learn how to make black and white icons with color in it. The problem is that I use Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0.
I am able to translate a lot of icon tutorials with it. So far it's been pretty good. But when it comes to the black and white with colors. I'm just at a lost.

Any tips would be highly appreciated.

black and white work

Hi, i've just found this place and it's fantastic.

Got a question about working with black and white and bringing colour into it. I have PS 7.0 and i was just wondering if i could get some tips. I've seen some icons before that are mainly black and white but will have a glow of red etc and i would love to know how to do it.

Also, whilst looking through the tutorials, alot of people say put a layer or a gradient under your base layer and change it from there- could somebody explain to me how you do it?

Cheers!

Icon Help

Hello all I was wondering if some can answer this for me.

I'm using PSP 9. I noticed that with this icon, when you zoom in, on it at any size the actual picture may not be clear but the font is perfect. I've tried to create something similar two way, I used a hi-res image, and used the font at a very large size and then resize the entire image and I've also just resized the image then used the font at a small size, both ways leave me with a font that is blurry. Can anyone tell me what I should do? I'd really appreciate it.
