I newbie to graphics making has a few questions -- If anyone could answer them they would be *GREATLY* appreciated*

I was wondering, I have downloaded some amazing brushes for graphics and I have tons of them. I sometimes have a graphic and know I have a certain brush I want to put on it but I have so many brushes that it takes me FOREVER to find the one I want. I usually have to go through each and every brush and I have about 50+ brush packs. Is there anyone you could suggest in organizing your brushes? How do you organize them to make them easier to find?

Also what about organizes you memories in your livejournal account for different graphics tutorials. I think I went alittle memories happy lol I have alot of tutorials and I want them to be alittle more organized, how do you, yourself organize your memories?

Any tips, tricks or pointers will be appreciated!

Thanks! :)

Hi... *waves* I'm new and I've been creating (crappy( icons ever since April. Now that I'm getting really into it, I've been wanting to download brushes and textures and the likes to go even more crazy. So I download them, in hopes that they'll work with the program I'm using.

But they don't.

I'm using Corel Painter 9, so....  the question for the jury is this: Is there a way that I can download and use the things I want to, or do I have to get PSP or PS? And another question, is there any brushes specifically made for the Corel Painter series. I know it's part of Jasc, and I thought (a long shot yes, I know) that brushes and textures specifically designed for PSP might work on CP9.

Now they might, but I'm still having problems with it. I put them where I'm suppose to put them, but the aren't the right files, so they can't be recognized.

So I'm going phooey.

Any suggestions?

Question about brushes

Hi everyone, I have a perhaps silly question. I use Photoshop CS and am rather new to using and installing brushes. I was wondering how you can convert .jbr files or an image pack in to .abr files or individual brushes in PS CS. I tried downloading a gorgeous brush set which turned out to be .jbr files and I don´t know how to use those in PS. I browsed the memories, but couldn´t find it. Can anyone help me? Mucho gracias! :-)

I've been making graphics/icons for a while now but there is one thing that always stumps me. So, if you guys could answer a simple question it would be greaaaatly appreciated.

When you're done with your icon, and you're ready to add your text, how do you choose what to put on the icon? If it's a movie/tv show icon do you necessarily have to make it a quote from one of their appearances?

Making Brushes

Hey there; I'm a bit of a newbie, so bare with me. ^^;

I've been using brushes for a while now, and I thought it would be awesome to try and make some text brushes of my own. This brings about a couple of technical questions:

For the image pack, do you just save it as a PNG, stick 'em in a zip file, and send it out? Or is there a certain other image type that I should be saving them as?

And how do I make the file into a PSP file or a ABR file? I have both Photoshop Elements and Paint Shop Pro X, so theoretically I should be able to save them as both... I just have no idea how.

If all else fails I can just use an image pack, but if you know how to get the images into the specific file I'm looking for, help would be greatly appreciated. =3

Uh...I didn't see this in the memories, so I'll go ahead and ask.

Does anyone know how to make a code? And by code, I mean a 50x50 code, like the ones used for fanlistings. I'm not good at using pixel fonts so that the look they way they do on codes. Making borders is another thing that's difficult for me (I'm new to PS CS 2) If there's a tutorial out there, could someone point it out to me?

is there any way that i can achieve an effect like this in photoshop cs?

i wasn't sure where to look for this in the memories, so if someone can direct me to a tutorial, or explain how to do it, it would be much appreciated. the only thing i can really think of to do is mess around with the levels, but that doesn't give the same effect, really.
