Tutorial: Defining Brushes -- awesome timesaver

Sick of defining brushes from imagepacks? When you've downloaded countless brushsets, its a pain to open each image, define it, close it, open the next one, define it, etc. hiddensarah showed me an easier way. It's so easy, I can't believe I wasted all that time before o_O

This tutorial will show you how to create your own action to automate defining brushes, and then how to use the action to create a brushset. I'm using Photoshop 6 but it's probably translatable.

Too many brushes?

I hope it is okay to post this here.
I download a lot of brush sets and i just opened my photoshop afetr installing more new brushes and when i go across to change brush set, my brush sets take up the whole screen and i know i won't be able to install anymore.
What can i do to organise them?

working with concert pictures?

i work with a lot of concert pictures for my icons, and i have a lot of trouble with them. they usually have really vivid/weird colors and dark backgrounds and the things i normally do to icons just don't work right.

so if anyone can offer suggestions or point me in the direction of tutorials dealing with concert photography, i'd appreciate it. i use PSP8, but i've learned to adapt most tutorials/processes from other programs, so that isn't an issue.

Hello... I've just switched over to Photoshop Elements from PSCS2, and I was wondering - Can you do curves in PS Elements? I don't think you can.

And what are the other differences between Elements and regular PS? What can I can and cannot do now?

Just asking for clarification because this question isn't in the memories (or I can't find it).

Alright, I've looked all through the memories, and I can't find what I am looking for.. even though I'm sure I've seen more than one person ask this question in the past. Maybe I'm just spacing out..

But anyways, everytime I take a screencap and crop it to make an icon (down to 100x100) it's always REALLY blurry even if I sharpen it and mess with the colors. It's blurry, you can't see facial expressions or really anything that's going on.

I use PS7, how do I fix this? Or, if you don't feel like explaining, link me to a tutorial! :)

thanks!

I looked back and I couldn't manage to find it so I was wondering if anyone could help me out.

A while back, there was an AMAZING tutorial with Chii from Chobits and someone had ingeniously shown how to color the black and white image. I was wondering if anyone could give me the link again, since I seem to have lost it.

Many thanks :)

Full icon tutorial - Rose (Dr Who)

Go from to or

Note: The cap used is from last night's season finale of Doctor Who, but I don't really consider it to be spoilery if you don't know the context. If anyone majorly disagrees, do let me know (politely, please). I've replaced the text of the icon above, but the text on the icon behind the cut is spoilery. You have been warned.

Made using PS CS2 and PSP9 (but can easily be done with just PS).

( Usually this would be the text on the icon, but that's a spoiler )

Alice Tut for PS CS

masking in PSP

How do you get the effect of "masking" in paint shop in paint shop pro? I'm trying to follow a tutorial, and its very frustrating, because I love the effect, but I can't seem to replicate it.

Help?

As you can probably see, my avatar is quite fuzzy. It used to be beautiful - when it was a Paint Shop Pro 9 image. Then when I changed it to .JPG, it got ruined. Please, how do I fix this? Thanks!

Animation Shop

I have an Animation Shop question concerning making an animated mini-movie icon. I looked in the memories for help, but all the ones I could find [if I missed something answering my question, I do apologize], but all the tutorials were made with screencaps that I found.

Can anyone explain how to make an animated mini-movie icon in Animation Shop without screencapping? You know, kinda of like in ImageReady where you could open the video in there and take a section of the video? I'm a little new to Animation Shop, so I apologize again if there's a really simple or obvious solution, but if someone could point me in the right direction of a good tutorial or walk me through it or something, I'd really appreciate it. I've gotten myself so used to Photoshop, it's gotten the better of me ^^;;
