Searching for a Tutorial

I know I've seen this before but now I can't find it in two different sets of bookmarks and memories. *facepalms* I apologize if I'm just missing it and can't find it.

What I'm looking for was a tutorial/explanation of what to do when your screencaps are out of proper proportion so that the people's faces are too fat or too thin rather than how they should really look. It seems to me it had a little math formula in it but I can't find it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Making Screencaps.

Just a few questions.

Can we only make screencaps if you have the video playing in Realplayer, Windows Media Player...?

Why cant i make a series of screencaps? I have to make one at a time. I cannot just keep pressing on the whatever button and get tons of screencaps. I'll get all the caps on top of each other and stuck on. So in the end, i'll get one cap.

So erm, help?
Thanks :)

Selective Coloring?

First time poster here, so be kind?

I just got Photoshop CS2, upgraded from Paint Shop Pro. I really love all of the icons that are floating about with selective coloring, and could find a ton of tutorials for them when I didn't have PS, but now that I do, I can't find any hardly. If someone could point me in the direction of a great Selective Coloring Tutorial ( preferably one that would work on the funky coloring of Veronica Mars caps ), that would be fantastic.

Thank you!

EDIT:

Here is the coloring I am interested in, and yes I have asked the maker and have not yet gotten a response:

dreamtmemory made the icons.
hathaway ; baby can you play with fire?

help!

does anyone know how to get the coloring used in these icons/banners by gallivespian?

i've asked the maker but there's no reply. please help and thanks so much! ♥

edit: i use photoshop 7.0 but i have psp too.

Screencapping using Power Cinema

I use Power Cinema to make screencaps from DVDs, but I find if I'm capping from a music video, for example, they come out blurred if they've got lots of movement in them. The picture never looks blurry when I cap it but it does when I look at the saved image.
I just wondered if anyone knew how to combat this problem.

Tutorial

Okay, so this isn't my first tutorial, but I think it's the first one I've posted here, ever. :D Be kind.

Today, we're going to be making this icon: .

I'd say this isn't necessarily for beginners, but it isn't terribly hard. Done in PS7, but should translate. Follow the cut!
