Icon Tutorial #2 - Hermione Granger

Hello, again!

It's been quite some time since I posted my first tutorial. Since people enjoyed it, I decided to make a new one, this time a Harry Potter one.
Stills of the 5th movie are flying like Quidditch Seekers after the Golden Snitch and I couldn't resist them for much long.

But let's cut the chit chat and start the fun!

Photoshop/ImageReady problem

I'm using PS 6.0

I went to transfer from Photoshop to Imageready to work on animating an icon...and ImageReady won't start because it is missing a ADM plug-in in the "Required" folder.

I have no idea what the required folder is...or what plug-in is missing.

I am performing updates right now...but does anyone know what is going on and how to fix it?

(yes I looked this up in memories).

PROBLEM SOLVED...

I guess the "required" folder was hiding. I had to arrange the icons by name...then I looked under presets and found another 'required" folder that had the missing file. I moved the missing file from the presets to the main "required" folder.

Thanks for your help!

okay so I am fully prepared to sound like an idiot because I'm not sure how to describe it and I don't even have the best examples but does anyone know of any brushes for psp or image packs to make graphics like THIS or THIS? these are not a graphics I found and instead it was something I found on google but I am not sure of the correct word to use to describe it and I really only want one brush to apply the thing to one image and not the whole sheet but I just used these as general examples. any help at this point would be fantastic because I am completely lost. thank you!

Image Ready help! PLEASE! :)

ACK! I've figured out how to resize my frames, etc.

I'm trying to make a mini-movie icon, but I can't figure out how to get my movie-frames into my background image.... Help? I've been trying to follow AS tutorials, but it isn't the same! Please, help me, help me, help me! (YES, I've searched (and searched) the memories! :P

I'm sorry if this is confusing....

animation problem - solved

He everybody!

I use Corel Photo Paint 11 (quite rare I know, but in many ways similar to the more popular programs often described here) and am in the process of making an animated icon. I have 15 100x100 frames (in jpg format) with originally about 10 kB each, but have reduced the filesize to 2,5 kB for each. That's as far as they are still acceptable.
My problem (?) is, when I turn them into a gif, the whole animated icon is suddenly about 130 kB big.
I did not find an option for resizing the filesize of the whole gif and reducing the size of the icon doesn't help really unless I make it really tiny and I have seen similar icons (100x100) on LJ, that obviously are not more than 40 kBs.

What is your experience concerning that, even with other programs? Do I miss something?
I can't post my icon here, because I want to enter it into a challenge.
Any suggestion would be appreciated! :)

ETA: I want to use the snow-bases from that tutorial: http://yumei-k.livejournal.com/14115.html to make something like this: Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting (made by nelliewu. I have also asked her about 2 minutes ago. :)

ETA2: Through some research and nelliewu, who directed me to the original tutorial, I found out that all there is, that my software is missing the "resize/optimize" option for the finished gif.

Matching colors?

Another question dealing with selective coloring. How do I get pictures that are completely different colors to start with, the same color?
For example:

I used this tutorial to change this picture into this

I want to make the colors of this picture match, but that tutorial obviously doesn't work with the picture. I am new at this so any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much in advance!
