PSP 10 Texture Question

I currently am using Corel PaintShopPro 10, and so a few days ago I made an icon. Thinking I would remember how to make the effects again without having to save it as a psp file I simply saved it as a jpg. Therefore merging all the layers together. Now I have tried to make the same icon to no avail. I have managed to get somewhat the same coloring. But, not the textures. I know I used two from the Effects Browser. I've tried alot and I get weird coloring on certain blend modes I did not get before, and the textures are simply not working. I've searched for something like this, but all I get is how to put on external textures thru copy and paste.

Here's the one I made in the first place:

iii.. need some help. i use PS7.

i have an icon i'm making, but the people's faces always turn out wayyy too bright, no matter what i do. so bright, in fact, that they just look like.. orbs. there aren't any defining lines or anything to their faces.
i can't post the icon because it's for an icontest, but i was just wondering if there is a way to fix this.
i went back a few months in the community, but didn't see a simular question / tutorial.
also, i want the image to have a brown-green-red tone to it. if that makes a difference.

thanks! [:

ps - i've tried messing with the contract, hue/saturation, etc. that didn't work, either. :/

soo, i'm lost. i have photoshop elements 4.0.

& whenever I use any lasso tool [whether it be regular or magnetic], I can use it, but when I finally connect it back to the original place, it makes the background [unselected] red. I've checked all the options & settings; i've reset all the tools & still it does it.

Can anyone help me get rid of it or know anything like this that's happened before? Thank you!!
peace rain

I wasn't sure if this was allowed or not, so if it isn't let me know and I'll delete my post.

Does anybody know of a good video converter? I need one to convert from wmv to mpg for my Animation Shop 3. If somebody could help me, I'd be eternally greateful.
