Simple little question...

Hello, *waves* Quick question...I'm still new to Paintshop Pro, I've been using Photoshop 6.0 for a while now, and have just started relying on Paintshop 8.0 recently. It's great and all, I just started to notice one problem, whenever I resize a screencap that was taken from VLC player to 100 x 100, it ends up grainy and a big mess, however in Photoshop, all I need to do is sharpen it once and it's fine.

The size is the same in both programs yet I can't figure out what's going on...any more experianced PSP users out there who can help me out?

Animation Shop vs Image Ready

I'm having issues with animating two frames and getting it down to 40k. I'm wondering if maybe JASC Animation Shop 3's optimization just isn't working for me. I've had Image Ready CS2 sitting around for a while and I thought I might try my luck with it but no such luck.

First of all, here is what I'd like it to look like:

It's just two frickin' frames but I can't get it down to under 40k without murdering the quality.

So I open them both in Image Ready and I managed to figure out how to get some animation frames set up with tweening but for the life of me I just can't get the transition to work. If I have opacity checked, as expected, the image starts out at 100% but becomes lighter. But if I have it unchecked, there is no transition at all, it just gives me five frames of layer one and then one frame of layer two. So there is no subtle shift of the text.

Not only that, I can't export or save it in GIF format. When I go to "Save Optimized As," there is no GIF option, only PNG and HTML.

To sum all of this up, I guess I have several questions:
  1. How do I get the animation down to 40k?
  2. How do I get a "phasing" effect from one layer to another in Image Ready?
  3. Why can't I "Save As Optimized" as a GIF?

Thank you for your time. I'm sorry this is so long.

Any Tutorial on These?

I' m sorry if this question is in the memories--I had looked, but I'm not even sure what you call these besides 'templets'. I snagged these from someone very recently, but I can't remember who. Apologies for not crediting.

I like them of course--but want to make my own. (Especially a variation of the first.) Does anyone know a tutorial for CS or Image ready? Or what program was used to make these? Everytime I try, my lines are blurry and I can't get that neat concise pixel line--or the straight edges. Thanks in advance for any assistance!

This colour bar, I was wondering how to get that white... (line?) thing behind the text. I've seen them on every colour bar like this one, and I've been wondering how to do it.

I use Photoshop 7.0

Hey. I'm having a slight problem. Sometimes, when I make an icon in Photoshop and upload it onto my photobucket, the icon loses a lot of its color once on photobucket. I was wondering if there was any way to avoid this problem. Thanks :)
