history brush question

Okay, I have a question. I've been through the memories, looking for an answer to this, but it's almost more troubleshooting than tutorial stuff.

I've been using the extract option to remove backgrounds, and it worked quite well for a while. But recently I've began getting this error message:

Could not use the history brush because the current canvas size does not match that of the history state.

This seems like a resize should fix the problem, but I've tried it at all sorts of resizing and still haven't been able to use the brush. Since it's my favorite thing to do when I extract outside the lines, I really need to get it working again. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

dark screencaps

I've looked through the memories and couldn't find anything tagged as "brightening screencaps" or similar. I might've overlooked.
I have some dark screencaps, they're of bad quality, so auto-levels don't help.
I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of some tutorials? It would be appreciated.

I use PS7, and here's an example of my cap.

Fixing yellowness

I've had a bit of a look through the memories and through the tutorials, and couldn't find anything to help. My problem is that I have a very yellow icon I'm working on. (It's also very dark, but I know how to fix that.) I found some stuff on fixing yellow icons, but it used selective colouring. Problem is, I only have Photoshop Elements and Fireworks. So. No selective colouring.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this without selective colouring? I have curves, but I'm not expert at using them, and I haven't been able to come up with any satisfactory results on my own.

Easier way to animate...

Okie Dokie. The amount of questions being asked here is probably annoying and I hate to ask but I hate how long it takes for me to make one animation.

I generally cap what I want to animate, then use ImageReady to put it together.

Now I'm wondering if there is anything I can use to animate easier..like a programme where you click where you want animated to where the animation ends and you just have to use ImageReady or whatever to crop it.

I hope this makes sense. *Laughs*

(no subject)

I want to make an animation with only text. Now I got this:

Now I want the text to go smooth over the icon. Not shocky. Now someone told me I had to tween the layers. But then I got this:

Can anyone help me?

Multiple Questions.

1. How do i add text, i have tried but it ends up being some random size and some random color.
Any exact guides to adding text?

2.When i do add text, how do i rotate it?

[btw, i use PSP8]

3. How do i replace selective coloring, since PSP8 doesn't have it?

Thanks.
