Text Problems in PS CS

Alright... so I've been fiddling with my PS some more, and am really happy with what I've found... but I do have one problem. For some reason, my text tool seems screwed up. It makes my text SOOO SMALL! Even when it's in 72 pt size, it's just barely readable! Does anybody know how I go about fixing this?

Eternal Sailor Mars - saturation layers are underappreciated + Tutorial list

Making an icon for mahougirlstills HUSH theme, I got discovered that the icon I made had about fifty billion different possibilities. Or at least 6 different icons, all made in PSP9 but they should be translatable.

From to or
( Four easy steps )

Or make these: or or or ( Three easy steps )

Also, I too have a big list of tutorials I love to use, located here. Most of them are either for or can be translated to PSP9.

I'm sorry if this isn't allowed,but I'm sure it'd benefit to a lot of people :]

I was just looking for tutorials that help you achieve the 'selective colouring' look without PS & with PSP?
I'm sure you know what I'm talking about ;]
Basically, any tutorial for PSP that looks like selective colouring.
I know there are makers out there that do selective colouring in PS & then try to convert it into PSP & get similiar results :]

Anything will be appreciated. & if you've any tips yourself, that'd be great :)

{Sorry again if this isn't allowed}

Photoshop question...

Hi people! I have the program GIMP, and everyone know about the no-selective-coloring crisis.

I actually have Photoshop, it's not installed on my computer because we got a new one recently and I can't find the disc.

So my question is - do all versions of Photoshop have selective coloring? Mine is pretty old (from about '99), and i'm not sure if that's a new feature or not. I just want to know because it if does have it, i'll find the disc and install it, but if not I won't even bother, because so far GIMP seems great.

Thanks!

Adding Polaroid Frames?

Hello! I'm new and I love this community! Everyone is so kind and sweet. Anyways, I was hoping this question would be appropriate for this place. I have Photoshop CS2, and I was wondering if anyone would kindly show me how to add a polaroid picture frame, and even achieve this grey coloring that is in the picture. Here's an example of an icon I found.

I know I could make it a .GIF and whatnot. All I wish to know is how to make the border. :] Any ideas?

Okay, I've tried asking a few other people about this, but I can't seem to find any answers.

I use Photoshop 7. I've been trying a few tutorials around here (and they're all gorgeous), but when I try to merge the layers, the only effect that remains is the one that has been highlighted in the layers pallette. Even if I merge them all in a block or individually, the only effect that remains is the one that has currently been highlighted. All the layers are visible and none of them are locked. My girlfriend reckons that it may have something to do with my settings, but I haven't touched any of them since I've had PS7 on my computer. Admittedly, I'm no expert on Photoshop, but I'm stumped.

Can anyone help me?

New here, looking into icon-making/screencapping programs before I choose which one to use. I used to make icons on Adobe...Photoshop? We had it free at school, but then I graduated and here I am. Was wondering what the pros and cons are of the various programs out there? Main thing right now is price - I'm low on funds and though I'm working, I need to eat too. Any ideas?

P.S. I read the FAQs on the various programs - Photoshop and Paintshop Pro were the main ones mentioned but they didn't go into prices/pros/cons, so I thought I'd ask anyway. Hope it's alright.
