Okay so I've looked through the memories and even gone to other communities and looked through the memories there to see if I could find the answer to my question before I posted here. I'm using PSP 8/PSP 9 and I was wondering what is the best way to outline images smoothly? I've seen a million of tutorials on outlining text and outlining smaller less complicated images so neither of them work for me lol especially with the image I want to use. I've tried using the magic wand but it just doesn't work like I want it to. And when I use the point to point it takes forever to outline and then when I finish outlining the lines look choppy and ugly. I have been sitting here trying to figure it out on my own but I think I'm just giving myself more of a headache lol and just getting more annoyed that I can't get the smooth outlining that I want. Behind the lj-cut I put the picture I'm using and how it looks when I try using the magic wand tool.

Can anyone tell me the difference between Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Image Ready?  I had the trial of Photoshop and I really loved making icons on it, but now it expired.  I was considering buying it until I checked the price...$599!  I almost had a heart attack!

I was upset, but then I noticed I had Adobe Image Ready on my computer, and it looks similar. I might try making icons on that.  I would like to get Photoshop, but I  can't justify spending that much just to make icons...  So I'm trying to find a cheap alternative.  Can tutorials for Photoshop be used on Image Ready?

I'm really sorry to be asking here- please delete this if it is unacceptable, but I am desperate and I didn't know where else to ask!

I am trying to screencap in PowerDVD, but with every DVD that I put in, the subtitles are up - so the caps are really hard to icon from. Is there any way that I can get rid of the subtitles?
I've searched everywhere! I've changed the subtitles, but there is no OFF.

Thank you so much in advance!

EDIT: Solved! Thankyou so so much everyone!

I've got a problem:
When I open a black-and-white picture in Photoshop CS2, I can't add a color. Every color I select turns out to be grey. Is there any way to stop this?
Love, Roos.

Questions About Chosing Colors for Color Layers

In my quest for a deeper understanding of what I am doing when I make icons (other than blindly taking #XXXXX and set it to Color Burn at 60%), I was hoping to learn a little bit more about color theory and why people choose the colors that they do for color layers and blending on their icons.

If it matters (which I don't think it does for this discussion), I use GIMP.
Thanks for the help!

Tutorials are Fun: A lesson in Brushes, 2 Tutorials

A few people requested a tutorial on how I made the brush set I posted earlier. I aim to please and have managed to throw together some kind of tutorial thingy.

-These tutorials cover:

;Installing brushes

;Creating, Saving and Sharing Brushes

I don't think these are translatable to Paintshop and I know because I have PaintShop. I've included some helpful links for Paintshop users though.

-The tuts are extrememly image-heavy, so beware dial-up users.

-I just whipped these up over the last few hours, so if I'm missing something or something is unclear, blame the rushy rush I put on these, LOL.

Does anyone know a good way to put a bumper sticker on a car... so it doesn't blatently look like it was put there? a tutorial or some advice would be really appreciated, thanks. And no, it's not to do evil.
