movies → Despicable Me; GPOY

(no subject)

Okay so lately I've been working hard on learning to make icons and such, I've been getting good about tweaking tutorials to fit my image and such but now I want to be able to make things without following tutorials at all. I know about color layers and such, brightness and contrast and color balance, but can anyone point me to something that will explain things like curves and levels and channel mixer layers? I looked in the memories and what I found was a bunch of tutorials featuring these things; what I'd like to know is how they work or what they do so I can better use them. If anyone could help me out I'd be really grateful!

I use PSP7. =]

Soft and Dreamy Icon Tutorial

Today we're going to learn how to create an icon that has a soft dreamy look to it. This coloring is simple to achieve and requires only five or six layers to make depending upon brushes and borders. The coloring on this icon simulates the "vaseline on the lens" look. This technique is great for stock and live action icons and should work on icons from animated sources. This tutorial was made using Photoshop CS and is translatable to any program that has the Channel Mixer and Auto Levels adjustment options.

General Selective Coloring Tutorial - PS

Selective Coloring- it's all the rage right now. It is a very useful tool, but it's also a very confusing one, if you don't know what you're doing. In an attempt to help people who tend to rely on tutorials, or are just not familiar with Selective Coloring in general, I've made a general tutorial on basic usage :)

This tutorial is only for Photoshop users, and is therefore not translatable, but I've added some links at the bottom which PSP and Photoshop Elements users may find useful :)

Dark pinkish tutorial

My first tutorial! I tried to make it as begginer friendly as possible, so I think it's pretty easy to follow! It has a lot of layers, though, so you have to at least know the basics of those.

Made on Paint Shop Pro 8; probably translatable. Uses Color Balance layers, but if you have any questions, I'll try to help!

It's here at armorring!
