Because I'm an idiot and have no clue what I'm doing.. can someone explain to me how to use mask brushes in PS CS? or at least point me to a tutorial for it?

Thanks so much!

I've been part of this community for a while now, and I don't think I've ever posted with a question. Anywho, I've always admired the Selective Coloring effect on icons, but I don't have the program in which I would have Selective Coloring. Does that make sense?

My question is: What would be the equivalent of Selective Coloring in PSP7? I've tried Automatic Saturation Enhancement, but it's not exactly what I'm trying for. Any help would be amazing!

A while ago I found an amazing tutorial for applying eyeliner to pictures in photoshop. When I got a new computer I lost all my favorite links. I just checked the memories and didn't see it. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I will greatly appreciate it. Thank You in advance.

Text along the edge of a picture?

I want to add text that follows the edge of a picture... is there a way to do that in PS CS? I've found how to make it curve or arc, but that's not what I want. I want to put it right along the edge of my daughter's arm in this picture:

I couldn't find anything like this in the memories.

I just got a free trial of Photoshop Elements 5.0 and I was wondering if anyone knew how to make a new color layer. Thanks a lot! Now I can do some tutorials with selective color... for 30 days.

Selective Color Guide

Has anyone written a guide to selective coloring? I understand what each slider does, but I don't really know how to make good combinations of adjustments. If anyone has any links or just some general advice, that would be awesome!

[tutorial] Quidditch Caps, Strong coloring

Under request, I am posting this tutorial. Be warned beforehand that it will not work in any base and that no matter how your base you you'll have to make modifications in the tut. This is more a tutorial on how to achieve certain sorts of effects and hopefully you will be able to make pretty icons using the techniques it contains. At least, that's what I expect with it, kids! :)

Here is what we have for today:

from this ugly base to this flashing icon!

For Photoshop users, selective colors involved. Not Translatable.
