I was wondering, for an image that has a face tilted away from you, how would you generally lighten up the eye-socket area  that is turned away from you. (Especially if they have deep eye sockets.) I.e. How to lighten up a small area so that it looks natural.

Sorry, I don't have a picture sample.

I use Adobe Photoshop CS2.

Everytime I save an animated icon, (.gif file) the entire background turns light blue!

Any reasons for this?

I just started successfully making animated icons.. and now they all turn blue. x_x

I see you guys with these fabulous images, and I can't seem to find any good ones anywhere.

Can you guys suggest some sites for good stock images? I use corbis, but I want to find other sites too.

Thanks in advance!

Excuse the fact that this is a rather general topic.

I use Adobe Photoshop CS2.

- Do any of you all have any special tips, tricks, or favorite effects/locations you have when dealing with patterns/textures?

- Do you have any favorite tutorials that tell you how to incorporate patterns/textures in a certain way?

- What are the primary ways you use your patterns/textures and how do you select the right pattern for a picture (by color, a design they have in common, etc.)?

I've run out of creativity with patterns and textures, so I was wondering if any of you have any ideas. I'd really appreciate any help here, so don't be afraid to say anything you might believe is useless. :]

Many thanks in advance, everyone. ♥

I was just wondering, does anyone know how to create icons with this effect, or could point me to a tutorial? By "this", I'm refering to the way the iconmaker seems to be able to extract a picture and make it blend into the background flawlessly.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

ImageReady Clip Tutorial?

I was looking through the memories, and there wasn't anything for what I was looking for. I wanted to make animated icons, but I never used ImageReady before and I remember doing an animation with a clip of a show before, but that was Animation Shop. Anyways, I wanted to make an animated icon like this:

Image Hosted by

I don't want to know about the borders, I just want to know the animation part. So if you can get me a tutorial for clips and stuff or make one, that'll be awesome, thanks! =D
