I'm working with a png and trying to outline it. But everytime I go to select-->modify-->smooth and select any amount to smooth it, it changes where I have selected. So instead of having the entire picture selected it might just be the bottom or what ever. Does any one know how to avoid this or how to work with it?

code trouble

wanted to post my icons but for some reason the coding isn't working. The image doesn't show and instead I get just the codes. I've tried Tinypic and Imageshack, which worked fine before but now aren't.

I'm getting this: <a href="http://imageshack.us"><img src="http://img169.imageshack.us/img169/5835/tz201228141302540sk0.jpg" border="0" alt="Image Hosted by ImageShack.us"/></a> instead of an image.

I've tried with every code they give me and none of them are bringing up my icon. :[

What am I doing wrong?

Showing thumbnails in PSCS3

I'm not sure if this is a computer issue or something I can fix within Photoshop (I use CS3), so I apologize if this isn't the correct place to be asking, but:

Every time I go to open up an image in PS, it gives me this screen, where it lists all the files and doesn't have a thumbnail for them. I have to click this icon every time to make it show the thumbnails, but doing that every single time I go to open an image is unnerving. Does anyone know if there's a way to set it so that it always shows the thumbnails?

General Iconing Advice

Okay, kids, let’s sit down and have a little chat. I’m not professing to be the world’s best graphic-maker by any means, but perhaps I have something to offer someone out there. And so, there are some things I want to bring up. This is not a tutorial like most in this community, and will require some reading and maybe even an open mind (oh, horrors!), but hopefully there is some value to be found.
