I've noticed, more often than not, that people are not crediting icons, or they are not crediting properly. So I put together this quick little tutorial for those of you who are new to lj, or are unsure of how to credit an icon.

Tutorial here @ samanthavnr.

Could anyone point me in the direction of a tutorial for making simple animated icons in ImageReady that involve two or three frames and a wipe effect between each, rather like the one I'm using here (by fullofinertia)? I've had a look through the memories but I'm not really sure what I'm looking for to be honest! Any tips or hints would be much appreciated.

My Very First Tutorial

I don't know if this will help anyone, but I made it with people like myself in mind. I've always had trouble with the high red/cyan effect. I don't know why. This, however, worked for me. I hope it helps someone, and I apologize if it looks similar to anyone else's way of doing this effect.

(I use Photoshop 7.0)

i made this tutorial because i thought that there were a lot of icons with a cold, light-blue tint to them that i couldn't do much with. i decided to do some experimenting, and this is what i came up with!

i'm going to try and put this words.

so, i like banners that have more than one picture, which means i have to blend it. so after i edit one picture and i want to put it on a new document and when i do, it changes into a black and white picture. i make sure the picture's setting is RGB and it is but it still looks the same. i don't know what i'm doing wrong but it's annoying me. a lot. can someone help me fix this problem? (and i bet none of that probably didn't make sense.)

please and thank you to anyone who replies. i use photoshop cs.

FIXED.

Hi everyone!

I have a question on how to make the original backgrounds of icons invisible & then put on to a plain color or texture. For example (because that probably made no sense lol):

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
credit to:iconzicons
&
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
credit to:nat_unintended (which someone posted here).

They both have their original backgrounds gone, & something else in the back. please help! :] I'd appreciate it. Oh & I use PS:CS.
