i have a lot of stock tutorials on my bookmarks so i decide to do a post with all of them. here i go...

these icons were taken from various livejournals. almost all of these tutorials are for photoshop and some are translatable.

too dark

I have a quick question about a problem I'm having with my PSCS2. After I've finished making my icon or graphic and save, the quality always seems much darker then I've thought it was.

Am I doing something wrong or have a setting on incorrectly? I'm sure that there is an easy solution and I'm just being stupid.

Okay, I'm going to try and explain this the best way I can without any pictures. I'm having a problem in photoshop, when I copy a picture from somewhere and paste it on a new, blank canvas it seems to go darker and the colors look more pronounced and blotchy, I'm not sure how to explain it. When I open textures some of the faint white on black (for example, a scratch texture) dissapears and doesn't look as grungy and faded. The reason I don't have a picture is because when I save them they turn back to normal, so there would be no point showing you :( Anyways, it happens when I open a picture too and I'm not sure what's going on! I wish I could make more sense, because it bothers me that I make the icon to look normal and when I save it, it doesn't look anything like it! I use photoshop CS2, by the way.

Thank you in advance! Hope it makes sense ^__^
