Hello! I've been a lurker for a while.

I was just wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of some good sights for brushes and fonts? :)

Any help would be appreciated!

lighter ...

whats a good tutorial to add to this photo to get a lighter effect?

i know to make it lighter i could just set it to screen, but i was wondering if i could brighten it and make it look colored as well.

ANOTHER QUESTION:
you know how if you add text in photoshop you can get a shadow under it? is there anyway to get that in PSP XI? (or any other verson of PSP)

Does anyone know, who has GIMP, how to get this coloring?

I've tried the archives and I didn't find anything similar to it I don't think.

Plus, is there a site where it can translate the coloring of the icon to another program? Someone told me that there was such a thing but I don't know if it's true.

Border problem...

Well like the title says, I'm having a problem with my borders.
I'm trying to make a border using the Rectangular Marquee Tool by making a selection and stroking (on the outside) but for some reason, my border ends up being rounded when it's not suppost to be, as opposed to square like how I want it.

eg:

Thats what it looks like when I make a selection and stroke on the outside but when I stroke inside my selection, it comes out fine.
I don't remember it doing this before, does anyone know how to fix it so that it comes out square when I'm stroking on the outside of my selection?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi everybody! I'm new to this community and I really want to learn my way around photoshop. One of the biggest questions I have is how to crop and image like this one.....

....so that it is a perfect square around the coffee cup so I can shrink it down to create icons with it. I'm so lost. I'm a newbie so if anyone can help me, just remember that I'm still learning with this program.

Thanks!
