[30R] THIS MOI!!

I know that this is an "icon" tutorial community, but this happens to me with icons and blends...

I get this awful white color between the pictures I want to blend... here there are two examples:

It doesn't matter if they are dark or light pictures, I always get that coloring... If I change the background color I get the color that I've chosen, and it looks really bad.
Can anybody help me? Thanks in advance...

A question

I looked through the archive and found nothing, so if I missed the post please direct me there.

In my Photoshop CS2, usually the outline of the brush I am using shows up when I am over my workspace. Now it's gone and I cannot really gauge how the brush will look before I click. Does anyone know what I am talking about and can anyone remedy this problem? Thank you.

(no subject)

Hey guys.
Okay, so I recently had to completely wipe out my computer because of a really bad virus..
So, needless to say, I lost EVERYTHING.

I'm hoping someone would be kind enough to help me.

I used to have a bunch of lists of tutorials saved in my bookmarks.
(I know, I should have used memories. I plan to this time.)

I used them A LOT for quick reference when I needed to achieve a certain colouring.

So if anyone could just give me a few links to lists, that would be lovely!

Thanks in advance! :]

Removing color

Alrighty guys, you were very helpful with my snow I have a question regarding getting the icons under 40K. Now, I was told all about optimization, and I did that...but somehow someone "took out color" on another board, and I'm not sure how to do that. The icon looks the same to me, but no matter what *I* do, it's still over 40K. I have PS CS2 with Image Ready.

Ok so I'm not sure if anyone is able to help me, or if this is against the posting rules, but I need help in relation to using Photoshop.

I use a VERY old version, like the free one you get. I think it is 5.5 or something. What I need help with, is that I can never save my icons in a normal PNG or JPEG (etc) format, I can only save it in a Photoshop format (as you all know, this disables alot of use of it).

So, when I want to save the image, I just PRINT-SCREEN the page and crop it down in Paint. But this gets very, very tiring, so I was wondering if anyone knew how to save it in a normal format??
