PSCS2 Texture Coloring Help

Okay, I've searched through the memories for a while now, but still haven't found what I'm looking for. I was wondering if anyone had/would be willing to make a tutorial for coloring textures.

I'm looking to turn something like this:

into something like this:

(Both are textures from invein)

I'm following beau_cassie's tutorial that is here but I just need to know more about the coloring aspect of it. I hope this all makes sense. I'm just not exactly sure how to do it, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can anyone recommend some colouring tutorials that similar effects to these graphics?

I tried to ask the maker herself, abscae , but she told me she's been too busy to make a tutorial. I'd settle for something similar. I'm absolutely in love with the colouring and effect.

I use Adobe Photoshop CS.

Photoshop CS2 Brushes Reloading.

I've looked in the memories and I've googled but I can't seem to find the exact problem. I'm using PSCS2 on a Mac and for the past couple of days everytime I've opened PS the brushes have reverted to default. I've got all the .abrs in my brushes folder, all my textures are still loaded, all my swatches, fonts just for some reason I have to reload all my brushes every time. I suppose it's not a huge deal but it is slightly irritating and I was wondering if anyone might know the reason and how to stop it?

Making a purple color pop?

So, I want to make a really snazzy wallpaper for my iMac, and I've found what I think will be the perfect picture for the moment, but I'm wondering how to make the background color pop out, if that makes any sense at all.

Actually, I'm just plain stuck as to what colors would make it look amazing. So with that being said
