Something's going wrong with my Paint Shop Pro 6. I'm trying to take this background
and crop it up and put one of these sprites
on it with a caption...but it won't even let me do that! I crop the background to the tiny area of the town I need, I crop the one sprite I need (from the back, hand to the head), I copy the sprite...and then have no option to paste it as a new layer. My only options are As New Image, As New Selection, and As Transparent Selection.
What the heck is going on here? I've been able to make sprite edits before, what makes this so different? Is it because they haven't been sprite *on* sprite? Or from this particular site before?
Also, a longer-lasting issue with PSP6--whenever I lay down any sort of color or whatever, it prohibits me from laying any more text. So if I want to make an icon or macro that has speech bubbles, I have to put the bubbles saying where everyone is going to talk and THEN lay down all the text, which means I have to guess blindly how much space it's going to take up.
Also sometimes if I leave PSP6 open for "too long" (I've never been able to figure out how long that is exactly) and then try to save, the whole thing will shut down. Given that I never hear about this issue from anyone else with the program, I think it's my copy. But I got it used from a friend...
