Chase this Light?

I would like to get some help with an animation effect. I want to be able to do the "Chase this Light" effect for icons from the TNT (Turner Network Television) commercial. I've been trying to find that commercial online but so far no go. But they do have part of the light effect on the website. Just watch the main image and the light will come and the picture will change. Does anyone know how to do this in ImageReady CS2 or somewhat similar?

I accidentally clicked something while photoshopping (I have PS7) and these symbols showed up in the upper left hand corner along with the dotted blue border. This happened to me once before and I don't remember how I fixed it. I know its some type of setting, for example like "display bounding box" for the select tool.
Does anyone know how to turn this off? Thanks!

Example:

How do you take a single screen cap in VirtualDub?

EDIT - A tutorial here explains how.

In VirtualDub, I wanted to take a single screen cap of a scene instead of screen capping the entire file, but I am unable to find any information on how to do so.

In the memories, there is a tutorial for single screen capping but it is for a older version of VirtualDub. I am using version 1.8.7.

Thanks for any help!

Animated Gifs tutorial

I've seen many people ask about animated .gifs for Livejournal. I thought I would answer some questions about them. Some examples of animated .gifs would be this, this, this, this and this. Unfortunately, not all of these examples fit the restrictions but I'll teach you to make them.

I use Photoshop CS3, but hopefully this is translatable. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask and I'll answer them as soon as possible.

This is my finished result:

I'd love to see your results - hopefully, your's turned out better than mine!

I hope this helped. Please feel free to comment and ask questions. If you found this tutorial helpful, maybe you should join and/or watch </a></b></a>omg_resource . Please leave your comments here!

Hi, I recently made this animated icon in imageready (cs2 btw) but when I saved it, it became in poor quality.
Now I know gifs are always poor quality but I've seen some high quality icons around lj and I was wondering if there is any way to preserve the high quality of an animated gif icon when saving it.
I'd be really grateful for any advice.
Also, here is the icon if anyone is curious.

Hi there, i was wondering if anyone knew how to produce an image like this from a photo? I have tried using curves, selective colour etc. but i can't seem to get it right.
