Icon tutorial #2

Program: Photoshop 7.0
Difficulty: Moderate (requires a basic knowledge of PS and blending. Might be a tad difficult for beginners)
Translatable: Should be, for most version of PS

(Since I didn't save a .psd I will be attempting to recreate the above icon using the same techniques used in the original)

Animated Icon Tutorial

Hello everyone! *Waves*

This is my tutorial on how to create an animated icon using InterVideo WinDVD 7 to take caps from footage, and Adobe Photoshop 7 and ImageReady to create the finished icon.

I've recently been making a good few animated icons and thought this tut may be of use to anyone who's getting started making any themselves.

I'm assuming a basic knowledge of Photoshop here but if you have any questions about any of the steps then feel free to ask.

Photoshop Tutorial

My first tutorial is up and going! xD

Here's a little Kristen Stewart tut for you. I really like the way you can do anything with
Kristens' pictures, they're very good for PS editing. The colour can fit to many images, but you
should be careful, adjust the layers to fit your picture :) Anyway, here we go!

Made in: Photoshop CS2
Psd: Yep :)

I'm trying to make icons like this by ohfreckle

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I know I have to erase the background or use a mask, and then put the texture over it. Hers are always smooth and blend together well, but every time I try it the outline turns out ragged and not smooth at all. Even if the outline is good, the images look like they're just lying on the texture, but they don't blend with it.
Does anyone have tips how to do it like in the example?
