Giva - Do Not Disturb

(no subject)

I've been doing graphics for a few years now, but I'm still working on making decent text only graphics, icons specifically. So, my question is, are there text tutorials out there that you just love? :) Thanks!

There was a tourial posted on here a while ago about this, I think, but I can't find it. How do you make an icon like the one below. It's two images, and then the cut on it is slanted, how do you make that slant? I have both Paint Shop Pro 9, and Photoshop 7.0.

I tried to find a clearer example, but couldn't.

Translating GIMP instructions for Photoshop CS3

Hi!

I use photoshop CS3. I found a really great tut that's written for GIMP, but translatable for photoshop. There's just one step thats confusing me.

It says:

"1) Hue/Saturation:

Master: -100. Red +100"

The confusing thing is, in Photoshop, there are three different options under Hue/Saturation: Hue, Saturation, and Lightness. I can't work out which one to put the numbers in >.< The layer is supposed to increase the red in an image. Any ideas what I should do in photoshop?

Thanks for any help =)

EDIT: This is the tut. http://community.livejournal.com/hex_graphics/8372.html#cutid1 It's the first step. It just makes the icon a tiny bit more red. But when I try it, it desaturates it totally >.<
