PS CS 2 Lab mode coloring tutorial

Since discovering Lab mode on PS, I've been using it for nearly every icon and other graphic I've made. It's a great way to up the colors and brightness without making the graphic bleed with one color or another. I'm not an expert and I'm sure there are tons of tutorials out there that explain the hows and whys, so I'm not going to do that. Even if I could! This is my tutorial on one icon, and the way I made it better. It's an awesome way--for me anyway--to color and brighten images.

Lab mode works best on brighter images when using it to get richer colors, and to brighten the image more. However, it also works on darker images, and just to prove that, I'm using a darker image. Just be careful; it can easily make a decent image crappy.

Here's how I made this icon in Photoshop CS 2:

P.S. I used it on the icon I'm posting with.
