Joe Jonas: Beyonce Bitch Please

DivX Watermark

I've checked Google, the FAQs and memories and couldn't find anything about this issue I'm having. I'm using Photoshop CS4 and I use import>video frames to layers to make my animated gifs and I use .avi files. This makes great looking gifs but for almost every video, I end up with a DivX watermark in the corner that is often not there when I watch the video in QuickTime.

With this video, there's no DivX watermark when I play it in QuickTime, but when I import it with Photoshop, there it is! It's extremely frustrating and seeing as importing with Photoshop is my best bet on making gifs (I use VLC to screencap but it's been getting progressively worse and worse and there seems to be absolutely nothing I can do about fixing it), I would really like to fix this.

Searching through google showed a way to disable the logo for the DivX codec but I can't find any DivX codec anywhere in my computer. Just the DivX player which I never use. I'm using a Mac, by the way.

I'm hoping and praying someone here can help me fix this or even can point me in the right direction. I make upwards of 5 to 10 gifs a day (I'm a bit addicted) and the watermark is driving me completely crazy!

EDIT: I managed to settle this issue after another couple of hours scouring Google. I deleted the DivX Decorder Component from my QuickTime library, restarted and it seems to be gone now!

I am trying to make the transition from PSP to PS and I'm feeling a little lost and confused. I've been using PSP for about 8 years, give or take, but lately I'm feeling like it's restricting when it comes to my icons and graphics, especially because I see gorgeous icon tutorials and would love to try them but they aren't translatable to PSP. It's frustrating. I just now made my first ever icon with PS7 and I feel like it came out well enough even though I feel like I have no idea what I was doing. If anyone knows of any PS(7) general tutorials (basic use of tools, selective coloring, resizing, etc), I'd be very grateful. ... But, anyway, on to my actual question...

When I was doing a curves layer and (attempting) a selective color layer I realized I couldn't see what I was doing to my icon as I was altering it. In PSP when I do layers like this it has a picture of ICON BEFORE >> ICON AS I'M MAKING CHANGES. When I was working PS7 I saw that the "preview" box was checked and assumed this to mean I should be seeing a progressing icon, but I didn't. Was I misunderstanding what the box meant? And if not, how can I fix it so that I see the icon as I'm working on it?

So sorry for the novel, but thanks in advance! :]

Also, is there a way I can crop my pictures without having to use the width and the height? It's just giving me a lot of trouble and I can't seem to work with it.
