+involves curves, color layers, hue/saturation layers, and selective coloring
1.) Start with your base and do what you need to get it prepared. My base was just fine, so I left it.
2.) Open a new H/S/L layer:
0, 35, 0
This step is optional. If your image is vibrant, skip it.
3.) New Selective Coloring layer:
Reds: -35, 50, 100, -37
Yellows: -100, -100, 100, 30
Neutrals: 30, -20, -40, -20
4.) New Selective Coloring layer:
Reds: -100, 100, 38, -51
Yellows: 100, 0, -40, 34
Neutrals: 30, 25, 35, -25
5.) New Color Fill layer (#391111) set to Exclusion at 60%
6.) New Selective Coloring layer at 50%:
Yellows: 0, 0, 100, 0
Neutrals: 10, 10, 20, 0
7.) New Curves layer:
Blue: (point one) 78, 39 (point two) 124, 143
And you're done!
If you're icon turns out to green or too yellow, then do another Selective Coloring layer. =D Let's see what you guys made!
