Tutorial #1

Step 1. Find the picture you want to use. I used http://i31.tinypic.com/34s5k52.jpg
Crop, resize and sharpen if needed.
Duplicate this base layer and set it to screen. Duplicate it again, bring it to the top and set to soft light.

Step 2. Make a new raster layer
Fill with the colour #f8b8b8
Set to multiply at 35%

NOTE: THE OPACITY OF THIS LAYER MAY VARY DEPENDING ON YOUR ICON, HOWEVER I SUGGEST KEEPING IT QUITE LOW.

Step 3. Make a new Channel Mixer layer
Red: 80
Leave everything else be.

Step 4. Create a new Hue/Saturation/Lightness layer
Master: Saturation: 25

Step 5. Make a Curves layer
Create a point with the following settings:
Input: 132
Output: 163

Step 6. Finally, create a new Colour Balance layer
Midtones: 74, 14, 32

I'd love to see what you come up with if you care to try it. Feel free to post your comments and results =]
