Bright Colors - Coloring tutorial

This is my first post here. I'm so sorry if I screw up :P

A coloring tutorial featuring the lovely Sharon den Adel of Within Temptation :)
Photobucket

-Made in Photoshop CS3
-Non-translatable. Includes Selective Coloring (sorry. :( I know the feeling)
-20 steps (I know, it's long. I'm sorry.)
-Should know basic Photoshop layers and phrases :)

Okay. Here we go. I don't know if I'm any good at telling people how to do things, so let me know if there's a step you'd like me to clear up. ^^'
By the by, the icon in this tutorial is 150x150 because that's the size at which it was originally made. Of course, you can make your image whatever size you want xD
And remember to play around with opacities and such. Different pictures respond differently to various effects :) A lot of these steps won't change the icon much, but they all matter. I checked :P

Step 1::
Create your base however you want. I suggest sharpening it before moving on :)
Here's mine:

Step 2::
New curves adjustment layer
Input: 155 / Output: 179

Step 3::
New layer. Fill with #0c0039. Set to exclusion - 100% opacity

Step 4::
Another new layer. This time fill with #00303e. Set to exclusion - 70%

Step 5::
Another new fill layer. Fill with #004705. Set to color dodge - 100%

Step 6::
New layer. Fill with #000547. Set to color dodge - 100%

Step 7::
New layer. Fill with #45000d. Set to color dodge - 100%

---Flatten your layers---

Step 8::
Now it's time for the most fun part *cough* Selective Coloring! O.O
Create a new Selective Color adjustment layer and put in these settings:

Red:: -100 / 0 / 100 / 13 /
Yellow:: 100 / 25 / -100 / 27 /
Cyan:: 100 / 49 / -66 / 70 /
Blue:: 100 / 0 / 65 / 41 /
White:: 100 / 0 / -36 / -25 /
Neutral:: 35 / 17 / 10 / 20 /

Step 9::
New layer. Fill with #00274f. Set to exclusion - 20%

Step 10::

Another Selective Color layer. Put in these settings:
R:: -91 / 0 / 11 / 19 /
Y:: 100 / 0 / -100 / 86 /
B:: -45 / 87 / 0 / 0 /
N:: -6 / -1 / -3 / 3 /

Step 11::
Create a new Brightness/Contrast adjustment layer.
Brightness: 2 / Contrast: 12

Step 12::

New layer. Fill with #001a35. Set to exclusion - 25%

Step 13::
New Brightness/Contrast layer.
B: 27 / C: -50

Step 14::
New Hue/Saturation layer.
Master saturation: +11

Step 15::
New Color Balance layer.
Midtones: +31 / 3 / -3 /
Shadows: 10 / -7 / -7 /
Highlights: -16 / -2 / 0 /

Step 16::
New curves layer. This one has two points. :D
Point 1: I: 168 / O: 186
Point 2: I: 92 / O: 96

Step 17::
New layer. Fill with #660013. Set to lighten - 100%

Step 18::
New Brightness / Contrast layer.
B: -45 / C: 30

Step 19::
Finally, one last Selective Color layer.
R:: 100 / 22 / 3 / 1 /
Y:: 0 / 0 / 0 / 100 /
W:: 0 / 0 / 0 / -33 /
N:: 1 / 1 / -7 / 0 /

Add any textures and brushes you please, aaaaaaand

TADAR!

I can't remember for the life of me where I found my light textures. >.<;

-----------------------------

I know it was long. Sorry about that! ^_^ But I think I did pretty well for my first tutorial, right? :P

I'd like to know what you think, and I'd LOVE to see your results! :D
