1. Open your base and crop to 100 x 100 pixels.

2. Duplicate your base and set to Screen 100% Opacity.

3. Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Hue/Saturation

4. Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Selective Color

5. Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Color Balance
MIDTONES

6. Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Selective Color

NEUTRALS

And your done. Simple.
Again, this coloring will not work with every image, you will need to play around with the settings to make it work.
