Lightning Up Tutorial

to
Uses Selective Colouring

1. Hue/Saturation/Lightness layer
Saturation +37
Lightness +10

2. Colour Balance layer
Midtones: +8 -6 -21
Shadows: -8 +2 +17
Highlights: -4 +3 -11

3. Colour Fill layer
#230F0F, set to Exclusion

4. Curves layer
RGB
Point 1: Input 67 Output 60
Point 2: Input 123 Output 115
Point 3: Input 167 Output 181
(I think this is actually a nice colouring as it is but if you are a Photoshop user and have Selective Colouring you may wish to continue :D)

5. Selective Colouring layer
Reds: -78, 0, -12, +6
Yellows: -66, 0, 0, -100
Neutrals: +13, +5, 0, -13

6. Now duplicate your base layer and bring it to the top
Desaturate it and set the Blend Mode to Softlight
I used an Opacity of 19% but it can vary between images or how intense you want the contrast

7. Selective Colouring layer
Reds: -68, 0, 0, +44
Neutrals: +23, 0, 0, -15

8.
Add this as a new layer
Set the blend mode to Lighten 100% opacity

9.
Add this texture as a new layer
Set the blend mode to Darken 100% opacity

And that is it :D
